Well everyone..... I'm trying to get the wonderful people at BuzzAgent to let me try out a Kindle 3 and report on it.... I love reading but I so hate the stockpile of books that I have piled everywhere. So wish me luck.
Thanks and hopefully you will be reading my review here soon.

Favorite Things
Ok so I have not been very good about keeping up with my blogging.
BAD ME!
So I thought I would share some of my favorite things with you. Starting with 1 thing at a time.
Today I will pick QUILTING as my favorite thing.
I love almost everything about quilting.
From picking the pattern to picking the fabric to sewing the binding (would love to say label-another BAD ME) on.
I think my favorite part is gifting a quilt. I can only hope that the receiver enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.
I am not a perfectionist but I do try to do a good job on my projects. I don't want to stress myself out so much trying to be perfect that I can't enjoy the process.
Another favorite thing about quilting is the friends I have made and continue to make by sharing the joy of quilting. Quilters are some of the most generous and caring people I know.
Please share with me your favorite thing about quilting. (if you don't quilt please just share a favorite thing in your life.
OK so I have to add a photo.
This quilt is a quilt I made for my newest granddaughter Lilly (named after my heavenly Mother).
I just love it and was very proud to win 2 blue ribbons on it.

Inspiration for Blog Posts
I must say I'm very jealous. I have some really wonderful blogs that I follow. I wish I could say mine was in the same class. I never seem to post even though I told myself I would post daily or if not weekly. Well I lied to myself......
Where do all of you find such interesting things to post about.
I guess I must live a really really boring life.
Thanks to all of you who unlike me make reading blogs an enjoyable pasttime.

Finally Getting Something Done
Last night I finally completed my challenge project for our quilt show which is sponsored by one of the quilt guilds I belong too. I am going to try to complete a second challenge..... The show is June 11th. I will post a picture later.
Then today I so far have machine sewed on the binding on 5 tablerunners (I barter doing binding for attending quilt retreats that a friend does) now I just have to whip stitch the bindings down. I've got a couple of other things I need to bind for her.
It feels so good to actually feel like you accompolished something.
Heading back to sewing room in a little and see what else I can get done.

Rip It, Rip It, Rip it.
Why is it that we don't find that we put a block or square in wrong until we are quilting it?
I was working on my guild quilt show challenge wall hanging, of course I was quilting it when I saw I made a boo boo..... So I walked away for a while. I took a picture to sent to a friend so she could cry with me. And guess what I found a second mistake...... What luck.....
Well I knew I would not be happy knowing the mistakes were there, so I patiently ripped and ripped both spots just enough to get to the 2 mistakes (of course on opposite corners) and managed to unquilt a few stitches and a few seams and I fixed them.... They don't lay quite as smooth as they did originally but I think after I get the quilting finished they won't show so bad.... Will post pictures when done.....
Anyone else frogging it today?

Cost Of Quilting
With the cost of quilting (like everything else) going UP-UP-UP and the wallets not getting any fatter. I would like to hear how some of you are adapting to this......
I know I am quilting my own work now...
I'm working on some scrappy quilts....
How about you?
Please share.

The Fun Is Over
OK! The fun is over. Got home last night from a 2 day Paducah trip. It was wonderful. I did run into Virgina Walton creater of the "Creative Curves" rules and patterns. I had taken a class with her at least 4 years ago and did not get back to it quick enough and forgot the tricks to her technique. She was kind enough to give me a mini lesson, so I'm ready to give it a try again. Here is a picture of some of her patterns.
Then spent yesterday down at St. Charles, Mo. They had an Art Walk. It was very nice. It was a nice leisurely day after the hustle and bustle days of Paducah.
Hopefully I will now be inspired to really get in there and SEW, SEW, SEW.

Easter Wall Hanging & Quilt Retreat Photos
This is one of the projects I got done at the quilt retreat.
I did a few others but forgot to take pictures so
I will try to do that this week and post those.
This was a fun and easy project.
Here are just a few of the projects that were made by other
talented members of the guild.
There are a few others that I hope to show
but since they do show the member
I want to get their permission first.

Quilt Guild Round Robin
Saturday, March 12, 2011
Great Day
I had to work a half day today and then a friend met me at work and we were off!
We went to a Quilt Show in Highland, Il. Then we went to Rosemary's Fabrics and Quilt Shop also in Highland.
I went in search of fabrics I need for a medallion quilt round-robin I'm doing for one of my guilds.
I had really expected to have to settle for something to use for the next border, BUT I found the perfect fabrics and can't wait to get started on it.
BUT WAIT
I think I hear the sofa calling my name. It needs someone to cuddle up with and take a nap.
Ok I'll go.... It will be hard but I'll do it......

Tis The Season Stitch-A-Long
Well I finally got my book for the Tis The Season stitch-a-long. I've got my fabrics all except for the borders. I have my borders picked out but want to complete the first 2 or 3 blocks and try them on with the borders before buying.
I did not want to go with the traditional red and green Christmas colors. So I selected these. The border fabric matches and does have ornaments on it, so I think it will work.

Twin's Quilts Finally Finished
Well today I finally got the twins quilts finished. Now I have to get started on my daughter's baby quilt.
She is due April 6th, but since she is a repeat C-Sect the baby should be here by the end of March. Hope to have a date on Weds.
Never a dull moment.

Birdie Stitches Block of The Month
Well tonite I finally got my fabrics together and cut for the Birdie Stitches BOM.
I so enjoyed doing the embroidery work on the twins quilts that I went looking for
another embroidery quilt. I found the Birdie Stitches and am so ready to start on them.
I don't think it's to late to join since they just posted the second block the first of this
month. If you not sure what I'm talking about click on the Birdie Stitches button on my
blog and it will take you to the right place.

Twin Quilt Tops Finished
I did get the quilt tops done for the twins in time for the baby shower today.
I did have to bring them back home so I can work on getting them quilted.
I will try to take pictures tomorrow of the tops and get them loaded.

Progress on the Twins quilts
I have the main section of both quilts pieced. I'm still working on the embroidery on both of them. I will add the 2 borders when I have all of that done.
I am really enjoying doing the embroidery work, I forgot just how relaxing it can be to do mindless back stiching.
I've enjoyed doing these so much I think I will be making one for my daughter who is expecting grandchild #11 in March. I also may do the same quilt for my nephew and his wife who are expecting the end of March or first of April.
I will try to get pictures posted as soon as I get the borders on.
Happy Quilting to All.

OK I'M BACK & Celebrating TWINS
Ok I'm digging myself out of my rut.
Monday will be a year since I lost my beautiful Mother. It's hard going through life without her. We were so very close and I miss her so much each and every day.
I've been doing some sewing but not alot until last week. I just got a new great niece and nephew TWINS last week. They were born early 27 1/2 weeks. They are both doing good. Kaleb weighted 2lb 4oz and Kinlee weighted 2lb 8 oz.
I am making them matching quilts from the Art to Heart "Welcome Baby" book.
I will try to post pictures as soon as possible.
