FINALLY Made It To My Sewing Room

Well I finally made it to my sewing room but did not get to do anything in it but try to straighten it up and I still have a long way to go with that. It just amazes me how quick it can become a disaster area when you haven't even been in there sewing.
Unfortunately my house is small and unorganized so things tend to find their way in there and I don't even remember doing it. I can't blame hubby for it because I think he is afraid of the danger zone.
Hopefully now that week 1 of my new job is behind me I will get into the swing of things and get back there more often.
Well bye for now, I'm going to go try to do some more to try to tackle the monster.

I SURVIVED WORK WEEK 1

Well I survived my first week of work.  It was a major change as I said before because I'm now getting up when I used to sometimes go to bed. I also got to enjoy some wonderful weather (ha ha) with some snow and glazed roads.
This job position is one that I have done before at a different facility so there are a lot of similarities so I hope that helps with my transition.
Now I'm trying to do the laundry and all the household fun stuff today since I have another full week of training this week.
I do have a light in my tunnel as my 2 yr old (will be March 31st) granddaughter is coming over to play for a while today so I guess I should get busy and get my work done so I can enjoy her.

Update On New Job

Sorry I have not posted but with the new job my schedule has been turned upside down. NOT a bad thing.
I've been having to be at work at 6:30 which means I get up at 4:45 since I have a 45-60 minute drive (which right now I'm loving the "Empty Brain" ride).
Since my normal has been staying up until the wee hours of the morning (almost the time I have to get up now) it has been quite an adjustment.
I started as PRN and signed the papers today to go part time so I will be eligible for benefits now. BIG +.
I will be working midnights (no prob) after I'm done training on all shifts. And I can still pick up available extra shifts would is also a BIG +.
Needless to say I have not been getting any quilting done BUT I can take stuff to work on at work when I'm not busy or I can catch up on my reading.... That will be another +.
Hope to be back soon and maybe even have pictures of something I've managed to get done....

God Opened My Window!

Back in August I lost my job. At that time I put my trust in God. God's plan in God's time. I have always been a firm believer that when God closes a door he does open a window. Considering what impact losing a job can have on your life, it can be hard to wait for him to complete his plans.
Well about 2 weeks ago God opened my window. I offered a PRN position which I did accept (it's a foot in the door). They don't think I will stay PRN for too long (no guarantee) but it's a start. I wanted to wait til it was a sure thing before sharing. And today I attended my orientation (which I get paid for) so I guess it's official.
Thank you God for opening my window.

Lilies for Lillie - Beautiful Flowers For A Bad Day

This is one of my grandsons Carter. He brought me lilies in memory of my wonderful mother Lillie who passed away 3 years ago today. He really brightened up an other wise awful day.
Not only was I sad remembering Mom's passing but then I went to get me a bowl of soup and dropped a dutch oven full of soup and it spilled all over into the refrigerator and all over the floor. Husband who was sound asleep heard the crash and came running to find me in tears. He was such a sweet heart and told me to go in the other room and he would clean up the mess.
I did manage to get a friends quilt trimmed and the binding sewn on, now to just stitch it down.
I have another job interview tomorrow and I am putting it in God's hands.
Well off to get a shower and call it a night.
