Finally Getting Something Done

Last night I finally completed my challenge project for our quilt show which is sponsored by one of the quilt guilds I belong too. I am going to try to complete a second challenge..... The show is June 11th. I will post a picture later.
Then today I so far have machine sewed on the binding on 5 tablerunners (I barter doing binding for attending quilt retreats that a friend does) now I just have to whip stitch the bindings down. I've got a couple of other things I need to bind for her.
It feels so good to actually feel like you accompolished something.
Heading back to sewing room in a little and see what else I can get done.

Rip It, Rip It, Rip it.

Why is it that we don't find that we put a block or square in wrong until we are quilting it?
I was working on my guild quilt show challenge wall hanging, of course I was quilting it when I saw I made a boo boo..... So I walked away for a while. I took a picture to sent to a friend so she could cry with me. And guess what I found a second mistake...... What luck.....
Well I knew I would not be happy knowing the mistakes were there, so I patiently ripped and ripped both spots just enough to get to the 2 mistakes (of course on opposite corners) and managed to unquilt a few stitches and a few seams and I fixed them.... They don't lay quite as smooth as they did originally but I think after I get the quilting finished they won't show so bad.... Will post pictures when done.....
Anyone else frogging it today?

Cost Of Quilting

With the cost of quilting (like everything else) going UP-UP-UP and the wallets not getting any fatter. I would like to hear how some of you are adapting to this......
I know I am quilting my own work now...
I'm working on some scrappy quilts....
How about you?
Please share.

The Fun Is Over

OK! The fun is over. Got home last night from a 2 day Paducah trip. It was wonderful. I did run into Virgina Walton creater of the "Creative Curves" rules and patterns. I had taken a class with her at least 4 years ago and did not get back to it quick enough and forgot the tricks to her technique. She was kind enough to give me a mini lesson, so I'm ready to give it a try again. Here is a picture of some of her patterns.

Then spent yesterday down at St. Charles, Mo. They had an Art Walk. It was very nice. It was a nice leisurely day after the hustle and bustle days of Paducah.

Hopefully I will now be inspired to really get in there and SEW, SEW, SEW.
